big ballz, i think your missing the point entirely. this isnt a music history class at all. this is a class on qualitative/interpretive research methods. Seems like the professor wanted to use something different and unique as a study. She could have focused on just about anything for this class.....Star trek conventions, dog trainers, spelling bee contestants, suspension bridge architects, or deep fat frying techniques. This class requires focusing on something very specific and why not use something that her Generation-X students would enjoy and appreciate.
